Living in Victoria
Victoria is very beautiful city located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. History is still very much alive in its streets and stately squares and parks. Victoria is also a very lively place during both the summer and winter months. Our historic waterfront is lined with the BC Parliament buildings, the Fairmont Empress Hotel shops and galleries, fabulous restaurants, seductive nightspots, and elegant inns and hotels. It's a great place to live and call home.
Victoria is clean and liveable; this results from a combination of its beautiful physical surroundings and the government's strong environmental policy. A rapidly growing population has resulted in an even more rapid increase in vehicle usage. Despite this, peak levels of major pollutants have been trending downward, a sign of successful environmental policies in our city.
MoneySense features editor Rob Gerlsbeck said that Victoria has a lot of positives.
"I defy you to find a better city in Canada for weather," Gerlsbeck said Monday on CTV's Canada AM. "It's warm, only goes below 0 Celsius for 50 days a year, which is incredible for Canada. It doesn't rain too much. And the unemployment rate is incredibly low."
Ron's got the right idea. Victoria is truely a magical place to live work and play. Come see for yourself.

Although Emily Carr described herself as an “isolated little old woman on the edge of nowhere” her work has an appeal that is universal in its expressive messages rather than strictly limited to regional depictions of British Columbia.
